Those who live in Kuwait know that there is nothing much to see around.There used to be this rock formation in Khiran but now unfortunately that too is inaccessible , thanks to the construction of the new city around an artificial waterfront We just thought it must be some mud and sand piled up solid only to find out at the scientific aquarium that the rock formation in Khiran is millions of years old . Most of us who live abroad,have no relatives or family living around us.We are all alone ,the ultimate nuclear family.Its just us and the friends we make over the years.In my life,I haven't lived in joint family.Only when I visited India once in 4 or 5 years,I would spend almost a month with nanima or dadima's home and as usual ,we lived liked guests.The entire month went attending dinners and luncheons and brunches with every known relative.Either we were treating or were being treated to.But as kids,it was the change in atmosphere and environment that held our fascination,not the relatives itself. 4/9/2011 Kuwait. I turned 34 today and a year more and I will have lived half of my life.Very strange to have had 34 birthdays upto now.I still remember my 17 birthday,like it was yesterday. I celebrated at my hostel with my room mates. How was my birthday,you ask? Well,I was wished by many of my friends on facebook and it did make me feel very happy within.EVen though some might say,friends who are only online are not real friends,I dont think thats completely true.SOmeone has taken the time to wish you,means they think of you somewhere in their mind ,even if its for a single moment.
